Eaton’s EPG LAC Latin AmericaCaribbean Division division is currently seeking a Engineering Manager. The Engineering Engineer Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing the work of the assigned Engineering team and self to successfully complete assigned tasks. She/he will supervise and follow up the NPIs process and the electric distribution and control products design. Must support the Quoting, Marketing, Sales, Procurement, Planning, EESS and Production departments regarding the electric distribution and control products. What You’ll Do Analyzes and plans Engineering Engineers workforce utilization, space requirements, and layout of equipment for maximum workflow efficiency Supervises engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information Manages the engineering team performance and addresses issues with poor performance, discipline and time management Responsible for developing, deploy and monitor the Engineering area KPIs to demonstrate the productivity and efficiency of daily tasks, projects and introduction of new products Reviews and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports Team leadership and support for new product development, quality, and casting teams Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions with NPIs projects Defines and documents process flows for assembly and process, which includes writing and maintaining assembly, process, and test instructions Deliver equipment design, technical specifications and project cost sheets to the Marketing and Sales departments for the quotation process Prepare electrical blueprints (one-line, three-line, control and wiring) and mechanical drawings for special orders of local manufacturing for approval (when applicable) or for production Oversees and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and cost requirements of designs or applications Responsible for the components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications Deliver Bid manager files to Champs for Indent orders when applicable or, failing that, offer received from Champs or any other Eaton plant to order its production properly filtered and with the expectations of the client’s requirements Responsible for the research, design, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Ensure the ENG team is aligned with requirements Confers with Planning and Production staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations for maintenance and troubleshooting Identifies and implements improvements to reduce manufacturing time/cost by recommending/helping initiate “best practices” Creates and maintains bill of materials (BOMs) and labor routings to ensure accurate standard costing of manufactured products Maintain control of the BOMs and routings development, to keep the production orders (jobs) generation process up to date. Improve the BOMs accuracy to reduce reprocessing Support to the Purchasing area with the description of new products for customs documentation; active participation in shortage meetings for product replacement, inactive parts; and the loading of lead times and safety stock Support to the Planning area with queries about Temporary Process Modifications (MTPs) and equivalent alternatives components search included in the BOMs Qualifications Electric Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering Licenciate with an enfasis in Power Systems, Electric Controls and Automation. Project Management degree desirable. 4 years of experience in related positions, preferred in design of electric distribution products. Experience with project management or new product introduction Knowledge with product certification is desired Use of computer softwares like Windows (Word, Excel, Power Point), Autocad, Inventor/SolidWorks or EPlan Knowledge of ERP/SAP is a plus Advanced English (speaking and writing) (B2) Skills Soft skills: Team management; Strategic planning; Problem Solving; Negotiation skills, Accountability.
