Join us in our mission to ensure that every person has access to affordable and accessible mental health care.    About The Role   The Medical Biller at PsychPlus will be responsible for submitting medical claims to insurance companies and payers such as Medicare and Medicaid. This role ensures that healthcare providers receive reimbursement for their services in a timely and efficient manner. The Medical Biller works closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to manage billing and resolve any discrepancies.   Responsibilities     Claims Preparation and Submission: Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies. Verify insurance coverage and benefits for services rendered. Billing and Coding: Utilize appropriate billing codes to ensure accurate billing. Review patient charts and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Account Management: Manage and maintain patient billing records and account information. Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts. Insurance Follow-Up: Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe. Address denials and rejections, resubmit claims as necessary. Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding their billing statements and any discrepancies. Set up payment plans and collect payments from patients. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA. Stay updated on changes in billing and coding practices. Reporting: Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement. Report any issues or trends to the Billing Manager.   Requirements   Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field. Experience in reviewing and analyzing medical records for accurate coding and billing. Experience in submitting claims and following up on unpaid or denied claims. Hands-on experience with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience in communicating with patients regarding their bills, setting up payment plans, and resolving billing disputes. Strong understanding of medical terminology, billing codes, and insurance processes. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience. Further, base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Psychplus Health-sponsored benefits.    So—what do you think?     If you’ve made it this far, well, we’re excited to meet you too.
