Job Purpose: As part of DePuy Synthes Network Edge strategy we are increasing global Manufacturing capacity within the DPS Orthopaedic franchise. As part of that initiative, we are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to execute capacity expansion projects specifically focusing on development activities for the new MedTech facility in Costa Rica. This role will execute engineering deliverables in support of large-scale manufacturing capacity projects that will yield stable, reliable and cost-effective manufacturing process meeting projects FPO’s of capacity, product cost, budget and timeline. The scope of this position will include both project delivery as well as ensuring knowledge transfer to developing manufacturing site staff and will work in collaboration with the existing DPS functional organisations to ensure standardisation and the implementation of Best-in-Class practices. Key Responsibilities: Supporting senior engineering staff in delivery of robust and fully developed and qualified orthopaedic implant manufacturing processes to Network Edge projects Ensure that all project activities are conducted in line with procedures and controls outlined in the QMS and that the quality and performance of the product conforms to specified standards and in compliance with the recognised Regulatory Standards for relevant markets. Collaborate with functional stakeholders to ensure that technical, validation and regulatory strategies are implemented in an efficient and compliant manner and at an appropriate risk level Communicates with internal and external partners to coordinate and execute project plans. Technical support in execution of EHS&S policies and procedures Supporting technical collaboration across functions Qualifications: Qualifications Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or University degree required; focused degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or in a supply-chain related field preferred. Required: Experience in medical device manufacturing and validation Relevant professional work experience in the Medtech industry Strong interpersonal and communication skills & demonstrated ability to operate as part of a team. Track record of innovation and adaptability in project execution, with strong problem-solving skills. Decision Making – Required to make decisions on technical and management issues. Ability to evaluate and communicate significant risks Preferred: Experience in CNC machining Knowledge metrology and inspection methodologies Other: This role may require temporary relocation to the US or Ireland for up to 1 year May require up to 50% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
