Our Finance team integrates financial perspectives into our overall strategic and tactical decision-making, developing techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting, and performance evaluation. This supports our ongoing advancement in medical innovation and improves lives. The BSC Record to Report (R2R) Supervisor will act as a liaison between the R2R analysts and the Shared Service Center (SSC) customers. This role is pivotal in providing leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of financial processes and maintaining compliance with audit controls. Location: BIOMERICS Business Services Center (BSC), Cartago, Costa Rica Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the R2R team to support multiple business entities effectively. Serve as the primary contact for accounting and reporting topics within Biomerics entities. Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Identify and resolve complex accounting issues, providing recommendations and implementation plans for new and existing accounting policies. Collaborate with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to optimize financial processes and enhance efficiency. Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis of financial transactions, managing the finance back office for all company-related business. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the R2R team, promoting collaboration and a unified organizational mindset. Coordinate and lead weekly meetings to review R2R results and open items, ensuring timely resolution of issues. Support the BSC Finance Lead in developing systems, processes, and infrastructure for sustainable finance operations. Key Stakeholders: BSC Site Lead Corporate Finance, Operational, Accounting, and Finance System Directors Plant Controllers – Group Controllers Business General Managers CFO Key Performance Measures: Finance team budget, cost, and headcount targets Quality KPIs and SLAs Customer/Business finance satisfaction Employee and vendor satisfaction Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent, is required. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years in team leadership roles. Accounting experience 4+ years. Solid record of accomplishments in areas such as General Ledger, Management Accounting, Inventory accounting. Language: Fluent English (C1 or higher) & Spanish required. Prior experience in the medical industry is a plus. Experience working in a shared service center across a global/large organization will be an added advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced level). Proven knowledge of finance and accounting principles and practices GAAP or IFRS and auditing (preferred). Experience in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Desktop Procedures (DTPs). Knowledge of applications in a computerized environment, including spreadsheets applications, and databases (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, G-Suite, etc.). Proven analytical, and accuracy skills. Requires attention to details. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively, adhere to tight and established deadlines. Ability to perform work with limited direction and guidance. Ability to prioritize effectively and multitask, meet all deadlines and manage up. Knowledge of Finance Shared Services and operational accounting processes and related technology systems (e.g., Netsuite, Epicor, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, etc.) is desired. Experience working with one or more Netsuite Modules (highly desired). Manages/updates control documentation. Accounting IAS Certification (i.e., CPA, ACCA, etc.) preferred. Strong customer service mindset. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Working with other members of the accounting department to compile, analyze, and report financial data. Coordination with the rest of the team to execute metrics and solve complex issues with Local Finance team and BSC. Must have excellent analytical problem-solving skills. Completes internal and external audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledger and Fixed Assets accounts and providing information for auditors. Knowledge of quality control, internal controls, compliance, contract management, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle (knowledge in Netsuite preferred). Strong multitasking abilities and customer service orientation. Project management experience in business transitions. Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Manufacturing Finance and/or interaction with manufacturing plants, preferably in medical devices companies. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders. Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
